| The Board of Directors |
| A five-member board of directors runs WUAAG. They meet twice a year to discuss progress being made by the organization, challenges, and the way forward. Together, they provide the necessary policy direction, administrative oversight, motivation and quality leadership that keep the organization’s programs, goals and objectives in perspective. All major decisions are made at this level, in consultation with the executive council, which is represented on the board by the president. All five members on the board are women. |
| Advisors/Patrons/Patronesses |
| WUAAG has a number of advisors, who are mostly women and men, who are successful in their own fields of operations/professions in both the private and public sector. They provide technical assistance to the organization as and when the need arises and/or they see fit. |
| The Executive Council |

| WUAAG is run on a day-to-day basis by a six-member executive council. All members of the executive council are women and are either infected with or have been directly affected by HIV/AIDS. They are: |

| The executive council consults with the secretariat and membership on a daily basis and discusses all matters of concern with members. They serve as the link between the members and the board of directors and are directly responsible for the supervision of the secretariat. |
| The Secretariat |
As a result of the high level of complete or partial illiteracy among the members of the Executive Council, the Secretariat was established in 2007 with support and funding from the African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF).
The secretariat is made up of a Programmes Officer, an Accountant and a Secretary. They are directly accountable to and supervised by the Executive Council. Previously, WUAAG has had to depend to the goodwill of certain individuals and volunteers for project proposal writing, report writing and the professional management of WUAAG’s finances. With the establishment of the secretariat, WUAAG has become autonomous with respect to the professional and efficient management of our programmes and activities. |
| Members |
| WUAAG is basically a women’s organization, with about 100 people participating in the organization. Currently, WUAAG can boast of sixty (60) registered members, out of whom fifty-nine (59) are women. To qualify as a member, one has to be a woman infected or affected by HIV/AIDS. Men infected and/or affected by HIV/AIDS may be admitted as members under very special circumstances. |
| Volunteers |
| WUAAG has been built as an organization on volunteerism, as until, 2007, there has been no funding for the organization to employ anyone even on a part-time basis. Volunteers assist in project implementation, project proposal development and projects report writing. Volunteers implement all projects, including the income-generating activities like tie-and-dye/batik and red ribbons production; snail and mushroom farming, etc. WUAAG’s volunteers include of women infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. In the past students from the Department of Social Work (University of Ghana) and the School of Social Work (Department of Social Welfare) and periodically, other students from universities abroad have assisted and participated in the activities of WUAAG as volunteers. |
